In the first installment of an off-season series on minor league players winter jobs and interests, top Tampa Bay Rays pitching prospect Brent Honeywell is in the spotlight.
Winter Work: "I help out with lessons with my dad. And then just cruise timber tracts with my best friends uncle. (laughs) Nothing serious.
.....and what is that? "To be honest I don't really [know] either. We would shoot property lines and stuff like that."
Off-Season "Getting stronger now" Program: "I actually started my training before last year. Not my throwing but running and strength training."
Because? "Well I'm probably going to have more innings put on me next year, is what I'm thinking. So I mean just to be ready. Be as strong as I can be and go into spring traning hot."
Currently Listening To: "That's the hardest question you ever asked me. [Editor's Note: That can't be true] Depends on what I'm doing. I mean Eric church and Thomas Rhett are two of my favorite country singers. So country music and then 'Hotline Bling.'
