The Miracle League is close to my heart and I hope to encourage anyone who reads this to please make a donation to the league that allows children with disabilities to play the game of baseball. There are many local chapters so if you want to contribute to your own community that makes it even more of a plus. Don't think twice if you donate just ten dollars. Every little bit helps. We don't all have tons of extra money to make considerable donations, especially during the holidays. So if it's ten, then that's fantastic.
What the Miracle League does is so extraordinary in that it teaches children the importance of teamwork and participating and competing athletically, without anyone being the "loser." Every child wins. Every child gets a shot.
Earlier this year I mentioned here that they received the 2008 National Consortium for Academics and Sports Award.
As they say, "Every Child Deserves A Chance To Play Baseball."
